New preschool?

Surprise and I visited a preschool on Friday. It's at a local church. I spent so long trying to decide whether I want to switch him or not that my first choice, a highly rated program at the church we (sometimes) attend, was full. This one would be good though - it's right down the street from Oldest's elementary school, and there's a 20 minute window before the start time and kindergarten start time.

I still haven't made a decision, though.

The pluses: classrooms are HUGE. They play at the elementary school playground. They visit a retirement home a few times a year. According to the director, many children will attend the same elementary school as Surprise for kindergarten. Since it's the same time as K, I'd get about 5 hours a week of heavenly me time.

The minuses: well, there are none, except that we'll totally rearrange our normal day-to-day lives. I definitely wouldn't to be able to work out of the home any more - the program is too short. He'd leave the only "school" he's ever known.

Neither of those are necessarily bad things, since I'm not in love with his current school or with working out of the house. But it's hard to make the decision to give up the familiar.
